Welcome to Garden Angels!  This business was born out of a love of gardening and a desire to build a community of gardeners through education.

My name is Aimee and I have been gardening in the San Antonio area for the last ten years as a passionate hobby. I got started in gardening as an intentional way to focus on work-life balance.  As a physician, I know all too well that stress and anxiety can wreak havoc on your mind, body and spirit.  I set out to find a hobby that would bring a real benefit to myself, my family and those around me.  I couldn’t ignore the body of evidence that supported physical exercise, eating vegetables and being outdoors. Starting a garden was a natural way to combine them all.  I knew this because I had grown up in the garden. When I was young, my grandmother had a large vegetable plot and we had a small kitchen garden at my house as well.  Gardening became a way for me to enhance mine and my family’s health while also getting back to my roots.

And although, I remembered the fruits of the garden, I also remembered all of the labor that was involved. I knew that as a busy working mom of three, I had to find a way to make gardening more efficient so that it could fit into my space and my life.  Over the last ten years, I have been growing, reading and experimenting about the garden here in San Antonio and the surrounding areas.  A lot has changed both personally and professionally, but the garden has remained a constant in my life.  I now consider myself an expert beginner gardener.  In my medical training, they used to say, “See one, do one, teach one.”  It is never quite as simple as that, but I have so much passion about my garden, I am ready to “teach one.”  I started this business as a mechanism to share what I have learned and to save busy novices like me years of experimentation and failure through my own experience. I thought that I didn’t have enough time, expertise, space or energy, but I proved myself wrong year after year and my little patch of earth brings me so much joy.

Through one on one consultations, garden products and installations, I hope to transform you into a gardener.  And I hope that individuals will come together and become a community of gardeners. I am ready to help our community accomplish this one garden at a time and I can’t wait to get started!
